COMBI BOILER REPLACEMENT
One of our clients in Meir, Stoke on Trent, contacted us to discuss the replacement of their current combination boiler. Here’s what we decided on as the ideal replacement…
What is a combi boiler?
As the name suggests, a combination or ‘combi’ boiler serves two purposes. Firstly, it provides central heating. Secondly, it heats water directly from the mains when you turn on your tap. Therefore, it will save you space, because you don’t need a cold water tank in your loft or a hot water storage cylinder. Combi boilers are also energy efficient, as they heat only the water you need.
Replacing the boiler
After years of service the client’s old boiler had failed once too often and became uneconomical to repair. Trusting SDB to provide the best possible solution, the client left the choice of boiler and brand down to us.
We opted for the Vaillant ecoTEC Plus. And because SDB is a registered Vaillant Advance Partner it means we can offer a 10 year manufacturer’s guarantee.
Not wanting to leave the inefficiencies of an old, lethargic system to chance, the customer also asked us to replace their radiators. The new setup gives them an ultra energy efficient heating system and the peace of mind of an extended warranty.
We were able to fit the new system while the client was on holiday. So that meant there was minimum disruption. All the radiators could be removed without us having to worry about the customer being without heating.
Furthermore, we could flush out the existing heating pipework with chemicals – thus adding to the performance of the new system.
We installed a designer vertical radiator, which acted as a beautiful focal point to a recently refurbished kitchen.
